Creative Expressions

This week we continued our Author Study featuring Eric Carle.  We read “The Lamb and The Butterfly” and discussed his technique of creating the illustrations in his book by using tissue paper and glue.  We applied this technique to make tissue paper covered eggs.   We danced to “The Butterfly Waltz” by Beg Jeff and “Butterfly Dance Song” by Leslie Lowder and Michael Michel.  Nothing completes a butterfly dance like your own set of wings!  Before our butterflies took off for flight, we did some stretching to the hip hop beat of, “Following Directions” with Mark D. Pencil.
